Steve Tigert

Steve Tigert is the General Manager of Stork's Home Services and a licensed Texas Master Electrician. He runs day to day operations across the company and leads its electrical side, from panel upgrades and rewires to EV charger installations and safety inspections.

He learned the trade with a tool bag rather than a clipboard. Steve worked as an electrician at Milestone, one of the larger home service companies in North Texas, running service calls in the same neighborhoods Stork's covers today. Master Electrician is the top rung of the Texas electrical licence ladder, and reaching it takes documented years of field hours behind a journeyman licence before the exam is even an option.

He then moved into leadership as General Manager of Bacon, where the job shifted from wiring houses to building the team that wires them: hiring, training, scheduling and quality control across a full field crew. Running an operation at that size teaches you quickly which shortcuts cost a customer money later.

That pairing is what he brings to Stork's. He can tell you why a breaker keeps tripping and he can tell you why the company sending someone out has every incentive to sell you a new panel instead. Steve writes the electrical articles on this site and keeps the same rule on them that Michael keeps on the HVAC ones: explain what a homeowner can safely check, and be clear about where that stops.
